Indian Government to Integrate Blockchain and AI into Public Services
The Indian government has unveiled plans to embed blockchain technology and artificial intelligence into governance frameworks, targeting sectors like land records, supply chains, and digital commerce. The initiative, part of the Amrit Kaal vision (2022-2047), aims to create a transparent and inclusive system that bridges regional disparities.
Key projects include the AIKosh platform, which provides access to AI datasets and tools, and Bhashini, a multilingual translation mission. Digital literacy programs like PMGDISHA have already trained 64 million citizens, while infrastructure such as Aadhaar and UPI continues to scale service delivery.
Blockchain adoption will focus on streamlining land registries and commercial transactions, while AI deployments under the IndiaAI mission target healthcare and education. The government emphasized reducing bureaucratic friction through decentralized systems.
